aerial pictures of Scotland north coast coastline at Strathy Bay
The golden beach of Strathy Bay lies along the far northern coastline of mainland Scotland. It is about 20 miles west of the nearest major settlement of Thurso. The River Strathy comes into the picture from the top left passing a scattering of dwellings before entering the west side of the sandy bay. Access to the bay is from the main road to the cemetery area. By turning right at the T-juction in the top right of the picture takes you by single track road to Strathy Lighthouse. The landscape in the picture are designated as wildlife protected areas.
