A00131A Cuan Sound between Islands Seil and Luing

aerial pictures of Scotland west coast slate islands of Seil
Cuan Sound is a narrow channel separating the Island of Seil (bottom) and Luing (top). These formed a group of islands known as the "Slate Islands" where slate quarrying was the main industry. Both islands also belong to the "Inner Hebrides". Transportation between the islands is by ferry. It crosses from "Cuan" on Seil (bottom left) and makes its way directly to the other side, sometimes sideways due to the flow of water.
