Mallaig harbour is situated on the west coast of Scotland. By road Mallaig lies about 150 miles northwest of Glasgow. This view shows it as a busy port but in 1841 only a scattering of people lived in the area. The inhabitants turned to fishing but it was the arrival of the railway in 1901 and steamship that transformed Mallaig into a seaport.
Located on the west coast of Scotland.
