Located on the south eastern tip of the Isle of Bute, Kilchattan Bay faces the Firth of Clyde. At the bottom of the picture lies the settlement of Kilchattan which takes its name "Kilchattan" from the Saint (Cathan) who located a hermitage in the area around AD539.
