A00713E Fife Ness

aerial pictures of Scotland east coast coastline at Fife Ness along the east neuk
This location lies on the east coast of Scotland along the "East Neuk" of Fife and on the north bank of the Firth of Forth. This is the most easterly corner of Fife at Fife Ness and "Neuk" means nook or corner in Scots. The coastline is rugged and rocky with outcrops and the occasional jagged skerry. The picture shows Fife Ness lighthouse, a white pillbox shaped building commissioned in 1975. Above to the left of the lighthouse are the coastguard buildings. In the left and right of the picture are two links golf courses, that of Craighead and Balcomie respectively. For those who enjoy walking, an easy to walk coastal foot path zig-zags with the flow of the shoreline around Fife Ness.
Viewed looking northwest from above Fife Ness.
