Location, Dornoch Firth, northeast of Inverness on the east coastline of Scotland. Photographed during a prolonged Arctic winter spell, heavy frost has formed down to the sea shores of the Dornoch Firth. At the corner of Morrich More from where the picture was taken, the expanse of Whiteness sands run up and left in the picture to merge with the sands of Tain Scalps, beside the Village of Tain. This part of the coastline lies on the southern shores of the Dornoch Firth and in the middle right of the frame is Dornoch Point by Dornoch village. A WWII aerodrome was constructed on the lands in the middle left of the picture. Post the war it became an aerial firing range. viewed looking west.
