A00096C Eilean a Chaoil to the Kyle of Tongue

Location, the far northern coastline of mainland Scotland. At the bottom of the picture lies the small isle "Eilean a Chaoil" which is just east of Portvasco, a crofting township established during the Highland clearances. The rocky shoreline from the island runs up the middle of the picture to the settlements of Talmine and Skinnet, their sea views are superb and so are the sands. The Kyle of Tongue (sea water) runs across the top of the frame just below the hills at the top of the picture which does include Ben Loyal. Its remoteness makes a journey worth the while.
