A00104C Port Moir by Ardmore Point

Photographed here is a close up of the dramatic sea cliff formations that lie along the far north coast of the Scottish mainland. This location is over 30 miles west of Thurso, not far from the settlement of Armadale. The towering cliffs are perfect for nesting sea birds with breathtaking scenery for those who venture along the coast. Port Moir is a small pebbly landing at the bottom of a gully in the top of the picture just right of center. The top of the gully connects to a path which leads to the abandoned township of Poulouriscraig, what is left of several dwellings. The coastline is of a very rugged nature with outcrop rocky formations, sea cliffs, sea stacks and arches.
