A00154B Plockton Village from Carnan Duine

The coastal Village of Plockton is located in one of the most picturesque locations on the west coast of Scotland. The village has a daily train service that links to the Kyle of Lochalsh and the Highland capital Inverness. The village originated as a crofters patch but it was transformed during the Herring boom into a small port in the 1800's. When the fish disappeared Plockton was labelled "village of the poor". Not anymore as its a popular tourist destination with beautiful scenery in a mild climate. The village takes shelter from the Atlantic storms as it is tucked away in Loch Carron.
