Lunan Water lies south of Montrose by about 4 miles on the east coast of Scotland. Photographed on a winters morning with a low sun it captures the beach at Lunan Bay and standing on a rocky platform Red Castle in the centre of the picture overlooking Lunan Water outlet. The red sandstone castle was laid down by the Scottish King "William the Lion" then modified through time to include its remaining partial tower. The castle was burned in the 16th century then finally abandoned in a state of disrepair in the late 18th century.
