A00371B John Muir Nature Park and Tyne Sands

aerial pictures of Scotland east coast coastline at the river Tyne
The River Tyne at the top of the picture originates from south of Edinburgh and travels about thirty miles through beautiful landscapes and quaint historical villages to finally enter the North Sea at the Tyne Sands on the east coastline of Scotland. At the end of the River Tynes journey it enters the John Muir Country Park which includes the sands and lands in the picture. The Park was named after the famous Scottish naturalist and geologist John Muir who was born locally in Dunbar and as a child emigrated to the US with his family. His adult ideas helped in the understanding and pursuit in the preservation of the wilderness.
