aerial pictures of Scotland west coast slate Islands of Easdale
Seil sits along the bottom of the frame and Eadale island just above Seil. These formed a group of islands known as the "Slate Islands" where slate quarrying was the main industry. Near the top of the picture lies a remote group of islands once inhabited by monks and later Clans, Dun Chonniull with a fort, Garbh Eileach, Garvellachs and the island of Eileach an Naoimh having a Monastery.
