A00689G Gaylet Pot blow hole

aerial pictures of Scotland east coast coastline at Gaylet Pot
Location, 2 miles north of Arbroath town on the east coast of Scotland. Gaylet Pot is a blow hole in the middle of a field. It was naturally formed over a long period of time by the sea eroding the weaknesses of the coastal rock. A cavern eventually spread inland until the ceiling collapsed and created a hole in the ground. The sea entrance to the cavern is at the bottom of the red sandstone cliffs slightly left of center in the picture.
Viewed looking southwest.
