A00713B Largo Bay and beach

Largo Bay is situated on the northern shores of the Firth of Forth on the east coast of Scotland. The beach around the bay is a little more than 4 miles long on the Fife coastline starting in the west at Leven and finishing at Ruddons Point in the east. This picture captures the east part of the beach between Ruddons Point and the ancient coastal village of Lower Largo. The settlement of Upper Largo is in the top left of the picture and to the left of Largo Law hill. Until several decades ago the beach had lines of fishing net poles for trapping fish on the falling tide. A coastal path runs parallel to the beach for those who like to walk and gaze at the splendid scenery while breathing the sea air.
