Location, 3 miles north of the seaport Mallaig on the west coast of Scotland. This picture was taken about one mile northwest of Sandaig Bay which is the first bay along the rocky coastline (middle left). However, the bay has multiple sandy beaches with rocky outcrops and is in a sheltered location. Inverie Bay and village lie above Sandaig in the top left of the frame. Loch Nevis entrance lies at the top of the picture and is bounded in the south by North Morar (right) and to the north by Knoydart (left).
