A00280B St Abbs Head

Location, on the east coast of Scotland. Rising from the sea these volcanic rock formations at St Abbs Head are a perfect location for nesting colonies of seabirds. The sea cliffs and surrounding lands form a National Nature Reserve where many wildlife species, plants and insects can be found. Early settlements and the remains of a 7th century monastery with outbuildings lie on top of the Head. Built in more recent times the lighthouse of St Abbs came into operation in 1862.
