A00636A Inner Hebrides islands Seil to Islay

aerial pictures of Scotland west coast slate Islands of Seil
The fertile lands of Seil (middle and bottom) and Luing island (middle) are clear from this aerial image. Above Luing is Scarba and Jura (top) which are boggy and have rugged terrains and therefore less suitable for farming. Slate was quarried from Seil and Luing and became known as the "Slate Islands". Viewed looking south towards Islay (top right) from above Seil and the ferry road that ends at Cuan. These islands are some of the "Inner Hebrides" group that lie off the Scottish west coast.
