A00448D Falkland Village 2003

The settlement of Falkland is located below East Lomond hill on the hills northern side. The landscape was the hunting grounds of early Scottish Kings who resided at Falkland Castle then sometime later the castle was replaced by the existing Palace, middle in the picture.
The village expanded through time to its present size but the villagers early occupation was based around the Royal facilities of the original Castle and later the Palace.
