A00708A Tentsmuir Point

Location, the far north easterly point of Fife at Tentsmuir Point on the east coast of Scotland. This area is an important conservation site for wading birds and is a National Nature Reserve. Tentsmuir beach can be accessed through Tentsmuir forest which originally was a moorland with coastal sand dunes until the Forestry Commission undertook a tree plantation program in the 1920's. This view looks southeast from above the Tay estuary, crossing Tentsmuir Point to Fife Ness in the top of the picture.
