Ettrick Bay lies on the west shores of the Isle of Bute, an island located on the Firth of Clyde on the west coast of Scotland. The beach is made up of coarse sand with pebbles and looks out onto the "Kyles of Bute", a narrow sea channel lying between Bute and the Cowal peninsula. Viewed looking northwest from above Ettrick Bay across the Kyles of Bute to Loch Fyne at the top of the picture.
