The West Sands of St Andrews on the east coast of Scotland. Photographed on a freezing winters day long gentle waves trundle in from St Andrews Bay to arrive on this golden beach. The low sun casts a cold shadowy outline of buildings across the 1st and 18th fairways of the Old Golf course. The two mile beach extends north to the River Eden with sand dunes sandwiched between the beach and Golf courses. It is an extremely popular area for tourists nearly all year round. Viewed looking south.
