A00542D Largo Bay coastline

Largo Bay stretches from the old fishing village of Lower Largo to Ruddons Point near the top of the picture on the east coast of Scotland. The bay is located on the northern shores of the Firth of Forth facing southwest and in the 19th and 20th century was a popular holiday destination during the days of the steam train. The long crushed shell and sandy bay was ideal for traditional fixed net shore fishing, when the tide went out the fish were trapped hanging on nets.
