A00126B East Loch Tarbert Tarbert Village to West Loch Tarbert

View looking southwest down West Loch Tarbert to the Island of Gigha (very top). During the Norse conflicts with Scotland along the west coast, Magnus Barfod (son of King Olaf of Norway) dragged his warship overland between both sea lochs in the picture. From this he annexed the southern end of the Kintyre peninsula into Norse rule, an arrangement agreed by the Scottish King of the time.
