A00371C Seacliff to North Berwick

aerial pictures of Scotland east coast coastline at North Berwick
Location, Seacliff on the southern shores of the Firth of Forth on the east coast of Scotland. This photograph looks west along the East Lothian coastline from Seacliff at the bottom of the frame to North Berwick in the top left of the picture. At the bottom of the picture is the 18th century ruin of Seacliff House and outbuildings. It was here during the first world war that HMS Scottish Seacliff was born as a top secret base involved in U-boat defense and detection systems. To the right of the ruin lies Seacliff beach which hides a cave used by the 8th century Christian missionary Saint Baldred during his travels to the Bass Rock. Further along the coast from Seacliff beach stands the 14th century fortress of Tantallon Castle. Viewed looking west towards North Berwick in the top left of the picture.
